Built from semi monocoque carbon fiber, the durable OO wireless projector is a part of the GEO series from designer David Riesenberg. As he explains, the projector displays high definition (1080p) data via WiFi or internal SSD storage and works independently from any wire for up to 3 hours. It does rely on its internal Li-Ion battery for some support but hooks up to any power source (via a single wire), should the need arise. Thanks to the combo of WiFi and internal storage, OO doubles up as an extender/duplicator of an external display or as a wireless media projector/streamer with built in decoding capabilities.
Manipulating the stance of the projector is easy, thanks to its three independently articulated legs. And to work it like magic, a fully touchscreen remote come in handy, however it can work without the remote in extender/duplicator mode after pre configuration.

This remote can really become remote with those wheels under. That doesn’t explain the pacifier at the bottom though. So yeah I haven’t the remotest idea what the meaning behind this is. It’s being sold as a an art piece for the astonishingly high price of $516. At least shipping is free.

Riiflex Dumbbells for the Wiimote

Working out with your Nintendo Wii just got a little more intense with the release of Riiflex 2lb. Dumbbells
for the Wiimote. There’s a whole boatload of workouts for the Wii system- from Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active, Fitness Ultimatum, Golds Gym Cardio, Your Shape, to My Fitness Coach and you can improve your workout with most any of them by just adding these 2lb weights to your remote.
Now granted 2 pounds isn’t really all that much but adding just a little bit of weight will increase resistance and toning of your upper body and burn more calories than working out without the weights. These weights are made of tough polycarbonate, with cast-iron weights and a soft-touch rubber overmold so they won’t break if you drop them. That said, don’t let them go flying out of your hand while you work out because 2lbs of weight will do a lot more damage to your new TV than a plastic Wiimote alone would.

Laser Controlled Invisible iPod Remote

This could be the next clapper. The problem: your iPod is on the other side of the room and you want to control it. The solution: frickin’ lasers! This DIY project (emphasis on the Y since I couldn’t do anything nearly this complex) involves setting up a laser beam across the room. You control your iPod by simply breaking the beam with your hand. From my understanding of this mod, you can only control one function of the iPod but you could always set up multiple lasers! Zibits Mini R/C Robots

Senario has just announced a new remote controlled robot toy called Zibits. These small little robots come in 12 different models and will retail for $9.99 when they are released in mid-March (look for them in Toy ‘R Us and elsewhere).
Senario sent one over for us to play around with and it was a pretty good distraction. The robot lights up and makes blipping and bleeping robotic sounds. The remote is bi-directional- up makes the Zibit go forward and down makes it spin in a circle in place. While the spinning makes it a little tricky to steer, I can see the challenge of it adding to kid’s fun as they race against each other. Check out our video
Yeah the lesson is that it’s hard to maintain focus with the iPhone camera and control an RC robot at the same time. Zibits pocket size and low price are attractive and might just make this the hot toy of 2010. We’ll see.
