Disney and Sony Combine for Mickey Mouse Walkmans

Sony Disney Walkman 500x320 Disney and Sony Combine for Mickey Mouse Walkmans
Sony and Disney have teamed up to issue a series of Walkmans featured Mickey Mouse. They appear to be just normal Sony Walkmen but with intricate engravings of Mickey Mouse on the back. The most interesting part is the charging stand that has a smiling figurine of the mouse himself standing guard over your phone. Not much more info on this as the press release is all in Japanese, these might just be for the Japan market.

Google found Nikon D700x, D800 entries on nikonusa.com

March 12th, 2010 Techno Wizkid No comments

Halcyon Habit from www.halcyonhabit.com sent me this interesting info: if you Google d700x site:www.nikonusa.com you will get two results (this search is looking for D700x keywords in all nikonusa.com pages):

nikon d700x nikonusa.com Google found Nikon D700x, D800 entries on nikonusa.com

This could mean that at some point of time Nikon USA had the following link online:

http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25442/D700X.html

Currently this URL points to the Nikon D3x product listing (because of the product #25442, the D700X.html portion of the URL is irrelevant) but Google cache did capture the full D700x URL:

nikon d700x nikonusa.com cache Google found Nikon D700x, D800 entries on nikonusa.com

If you search for D800 site:www.nikonusa.com you will get one result that currently links to a Nikon support page.

The part that is not clear is whether Google really cached this page/URL or just created this search result entry based on external links pointing to that D700x URL (for example the same D700x link was already discussed on Fred Miranda forum and maybe the Internet traffic to that URL from FM was enough for Google to create those entries). Unfortunately nobody knows for sure how Google search algorithm works and this D700x entry remains just another rumor.

USB Super 16 Port Hub

USB Super 16 Port Hub

16 port usb hub USB Super 16 Port Hub
Sure we may have covered larger USB hubs before, like this 49 port monstrosity, but none that were really meant for the consumer market like this new 16 Port USB Hub. Computers today usually come with only 2 or 3 USB ports which isn’t even enough for all the gadgets I’m carrying in my pockets right now (iPhone, iPod Nano, digital camera, usb flash drive, external hard drive, usb humping dog). The hub is pretty compact considering you can plug 16 devices in at once. Let’s take a look at this baby in profile view… ain’t she a beauty?

It’s designed so that 2 PCs can connect to the hub and share the sources (but not at the same time). It has a built-in 22.5W power supply which is robust enough that an extra AC adapter is not needed. It would definitely be very convenient to have all of your USB gadgets plugged in at once plus it avoids the potential of you accidentally unplugging a device while it’s in use. That convenience will however cost you $159.
